It was a good first week back. Actually the kiddos didn't start until Wednesday so it was more of a half week. We did a lot of reviewing of not only routines and procedures but academics. In between, we did some fun games and activities. We did a New Year's Resolutions activity that I got from Dots-and-Spots. I couldn't locate the book so instead I showed a clip from this BrainPOP Jr. video about holidays. The New Year's part is at the very end and is only about a minute and a half long. Then we came up with 3 sentence starters that I wrote on the board for their resolutions. I modeled my resolution and showed them how to put the guitar together. They had to show me their resolution before being able to do the craft part. I was kind of surprised at how thoughtful their resolutions were. The guitars came out really cute and I hung them up on my bulletin board.
One of my kiddos asked me to buy Girl Scout cookies this week. It's that time of year again! This reminded me of the building I saw while visiting Savannah last week. It's the first Girl Scout's Headquarters which I of course had to take a pic of.
Well I hope everyone is enjoying getting back into routine. The early wake up time was hard but I think I have adjusted. I woke up at 6 on this Saturday morning! Have a great weekend!
