Reading, Reading, Reading and a Freebie!

This summer I am really focusing on my reading instruction and assessment. I am rereading some of my favorite professional books on the topic and plan to create some things for my reading binder which literally fell apart last year. Does anyone else get excited to buy new school supplies or is it just me? Can't wait to buy a new binder and make a cover for it. I'll be sure to post it when it's finished!

The first thing I worked on is creating a calendar to use in my reading binder. It took loads of time because I wanted it a certain way so that it would fit in a binder after being hole punched. I have also included a freebie at my store. I really want to revamp my reading conferences and created this reference sheet to help me.  It includes questions to ask students to assess if they are understanding their independent reading books. I plan on placing it in a protective sheet cover and putting it in my reading binder.

It's been too long!

It has been far too long since my last post! School really got crazy busy right up until the end of the year. I haven't even had time to read my favorite blogs let alone post. So glad it's summer! Looking forward to reading for fun and professionally, relaxing, organizing my place and catching up on my blog reading. One professional book I plan to read is Mosaic of Thought which now has a 2nd edition. If you are still following my blog - Thank you!
